Internally-fed power rollers
The paint is fed inside a perforated roller cover by a distributor system to ensure that it is delivered uniformly across the inside; it then comes out through about 200 holes each about 2 mm diameter.
The covers normally have the American inside diameter of 1.5" which is different from the European of 1.75"

Airless spray rollers
An airless spray roller has an airless spray head located about 120 mm from the roller cover and directed to hit the surface being painted, just in front of the roller, not onto it. A wide angle spray tip is used to reach most of the 9" footprint of the cover.
The covers normally have the American inside diameter of 1.5" which is different from the European of 1.75"
